In all corners of society there are echoes of crime fiction. Grey, tempestuous skies; eerie cracks of light in a dark wood, a solitary street lamp in a deserted nocturnal landscape.
Most of these photos were not consciously taken with crime fiction in mind. With hindsight however they show me what I was thinking. Most had no obvious beauty when I first saw them as images but seen through the crime fiction lens, for me at least, they capture the spirit of some of my favourite crime fiction scenes.
